Who operates TexMail

TexMail is an open-beta service operated by WW Research. This policy explains how TexMail handles information when you use the service.

What TexMail does

TexMail renders KaTeX-compatible mathematics on your device, builds an email in your browser, and sends that email directly to Google's Gmail API as an editable draft. TexMail does not send the draft to its recipient.

What stays on your device

Your recipient, subject, message, and equation images are not sent to a TexMail application server. TexMail saves the editable message as plain text in this browser's local storage so that a refresh does not lose your work. It remains there until you clear it, clear the site's browser data, or the browser removes it. Another person using the same browser profile may be able to see the saved message.

The browser may also retain the last Gmail address used and a preference for whether to include the optional TexMail credit. It may retain a small recovery record containing a draft fingerprint, a TexMail-generated Message-ID, Gmail resource identifiers, and timestamps. These records prevent accidental duplicate drafts after an interrupted request. They do not contain your Google password or access token. The account hint and preferences remain until you change or remove them, clear this site's browser data, or the browser removes them. An unresolved-operation journal is cleared after Gmail confirms and TexMail successfully saves that confirmation, after Gmail definitively rejects the request, when you discard it after checking Gmail, when you clear site data, or when the browser removes it. A confirmed-draft marker remains until you start or clear another message, load an example, switch or remove the Google account, clear site data, or the browser removes it.

What goes to Google

TexMail loads Google Identity Services to prepare the Gmail connection. TexMail does not pass your message to that script. When you continue with Google, TexMail requests the gmail.compose permission. The browser uses the resulting short-lived token to confirm the selected Gmail address and create the draft you reviewed.

Gmail's profile response also contains mailbox counters and a history identifier. TexMail uses and saves only the Gmail address and ignores the additional fields.

If Gmail does not confirm whether a request succeeded, TexMail may search your Gmail Drafts for the unique Message-ID assigned to that request. The app uses the result only to avoid creating a duplicate. It does not request access to your inbox or contacts and does not call Gmail's send action.

Deletion and revocation

TexMail keeps the returned Google access token only in JavaScript memory in the current tab. TexMail does not write it to TexMail local storage, session storage, cookies, IndexedDB, or WW Research servers. Google may maintain its own account cookies and authorization state.

Use Clear local draft in the composer to erase the locally saved recipient, subject, and message. Use Remove Google access while connected to clear the in-tab token and request revocation from Google. Google Account connections is the authoritative place to confirm or remove the grant. To remove all TexMail preferences and recovery records, clear the browser data stored for texmail.app.

You can revoke access later from your Google Account connections or follow Google's account-connection instructions . A Gmail draft remains in your Google account until you edit, send, or delete it in Gmail. Clearing TexMail data or revoking access does not delete a Gmail draft.

Hosting, sharing, and Limited Use

TexMail has no advertising or product-analytics code. Its hosting provider may process ordinary request and error information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, and time. In the normal TexMail flow, your message and Google access token are never included in requests to that infrastructure.

TexMail does not sell Google user data or disclose it to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties. It transmits data to Google only as necessary for authorization and Gmail draft operations. TexMail does not use Google user data for advertising or to train generalized artificial-intelligence models.

TexMail's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

For a privacy question, deletion concern, or support request, contact WW Research at contact@wwresearch.org. Because TexMail does not hold your message or Google data on its servers, support cannot remotely delete a local or Gmail draft.
